The deadline for income taxes approaches. As you rush to get your forms in the mail, don't get careless and make a mistake. Here's a list of the most common errors:

Incorrectly calculating total income.
Incorrectly computing the Earned Income Credit.
Errors in computing the amount of exemptions and deductions.
Figuring adjustable gross income.
Selecting an incorrect amount from the tax tables.
Writing in erroneous Social Security numbers, especially those of dependents.
Mathematical errors.
Incorrectly figuring the tax on Social Security benefits.
Incorrectly figuring capital gains and losses or incorrectly transferring the numbers from Schedule D.
