Investors are now finding it easier to get information straight from the horse's mouth. They can tune into analysts conference calls over the Internet.

Typically, when a company releases its quarterly earnings, the CEO holds a conference call to explain the results to Wall Street analysts, and face questions. Individual investors used to be shut out of these calls, but now the Securities and Exchange Commission is pushing companies to make information available to all investors, so companies are broadening access to these calls.  

A number of web sites provide notices of upcoming calls, and even archive past calls so investors can hear how the CEOs conduct these calls. All you need is a sound card, at least a 14.4 kps connection, and the right software, which can be downloaded free of charge from any of these web sites.
