House Ways and Means Committee Assignments Released

The House Ways and Means Committee January 7 released a list of the panel’s members and subcommittee assignments. Also at the meeting, House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Bill Archer, R-Texas, announced there will be a January 20 hearing, when Federal Reserve Board Chairman Alan Greenspan will testify.

The subcommittee chairs are as follows:

Trade Subcommittee: Rep. Philip Crane, R-Ill.

Oversight Subcommittee: Rep. Amo Houghton, R-N.Y.

Health Subcommittee: Rep. Bill Thomas, R-Calif.

Social Security Subcommittee: Rep. Clay Shaw, R-Fla.

Human Resources Subcommittee: Rep. Nancy Johnson, R-Conn.
